Intertextuality

Intertextuality "to describe the visual referencing between films". Its when films borrow the  inspiration from other clips in film. Sometimes its obvious for the audience as they are well known clips, for example they may recognize a camera angels, mise en scene, sound or the editing that they have seen in other movies.

An obvious example of intertextuality are the movies that spoof other famous clips, actors and films.
An example of this is 'The Disaster Movie'
